Cars: One of the side-effects on sin and the fall of man

I have always had the worst luck with cars. I bought a car that had a hole in the engine once and leaked 4 litres of oil a week. Two of my most mechanically sound vehicles were totaled off in accidents that weren't my fault. I finally thought my luck was changing when I married Rachelle and inherited the Acura Vigor. Well this week I had a flat tire, my air conditioner went dead, and yesterday I pulled into a parking lot with a trail of anti-freeze following me. Well, it would be easy to be down on my luck and curse my car, but lemons do make lemonaide.

The cool thing with the flat tire was someone went out of their way to get an aircompressor to fill our tire until we could get home and change it, and then a friend of mine was kind enough to bring my tire home for me since I couldn't. And with the anti-freeze one of the first faces we saw was a family friend who is quite knowledgable with cars, and some complete strangers gave us anti-freeze. It is so cool how God provides through little things. Even in some sucky situations: God shines. Hopefully you can see God shine through your day whether it is something cool or something that bites.

Dead Man's Chest.....full of crap

Last night I wasted money on something that should have been a decent movie, but I found it boring and completely stupid by the end. Pirates of the Carribean 2: Dead Man's Chest was a waste of the 2 and a half hours I spent watching it(except I hung out with my bro to watch it) The plot was completely wacky and stupid; and they tried really hard to be a blockbuster, but dived hard to the ground. The last half hour was completely stupid and tried to make the audience want to dump its wallet into tickets for the third one coming out(not sure when?) but it sucked. The sad thing is I might be intrigued to go see the third one when it comes out just to see how they piece this ludicrous plot together. And what was with that kiss on the Black Pearl? This movie was an example how hollywood cares only about money and not quality pictures anymore.

What are you looking at?

Pretty nice eh? My recent bike accident has given me a new image and look. And my new look has reminded me how retarded people are with people who are different. I've been catching people staring at me; giving me glares. People who know me are nice, curious, sympathetic; it's all cool. But I think the general consensus among strangers is I'm a thug. Some of my friends have commented that from a distance, I look like someone you don't want to mess with. Little kids boldly ask me what happened, so I take the opportunity to tell them about bike safety.
Yesterday I was at a wedding and only knew the bride and groom beside the people I travelled with; it was fun to catch people giving the looks. There was this one table of teenage guys that were giving me the glares. I was tempted to go rough them up...just jokes.
Luckily the scabs aren't deep, so in a week or so I should look pretty normal, and shouldn't have any noticable scars.
The doctor said I don't have any real damage, nor did I suffer a concussion. Peace Out.

Helmets can be cool

I discovered last night that helmets can be cool. I was riding my bike to the golf course. I was riding through the ditch and...I found a hole in the grass. My bike came to a complete stop and I kept going. I honestly don't remember how I landed or what happened for the following 5 minutes afterwards. The end result is I have scabs all over the one side of my face, my shoulder is bruised and is painful to move, and I ache like a 50-something old man. Rachelle freaked, but is supportive. I went to the doctor, and I'm OK. I tried to load up a picture, but it didn't work. Perhaps later.

Lookin' Good

I know it's tough being this good-looking; what can I say? The truth is I wanted to change my profile picture and you have to use a picture that you blogged with, so that's why I loaded it up.

I saw the new Will Ferrell movie; it's a little crude, but hilarious. This week I've been helping my awesome wife with her VBS program; she's had 53 kids, it's sweet. I've been hanging with Cole and Scott M.; they've been a big help at VBS and cool to hang with. We just had an awesome steak dinner and some good times.
Hey, before I forget I am finally throwing a bunch of the youth movies onto a DVD; if you are interested in a copy, comment and let me know, there might be a cost. Watching the movies reaffirms how much I miss the youth, and I thank God for the awesome times we had of fun and exploring God. Peace out for now.

Looking for Game

Do you have this game? Are you willing to get rid of it? My brother(Jay) and I are looking to buy this game. It is the game of "Hotels" by Milton Bradley. We love it! I can't afford to pay an arm and leg for it, but I would be interested in buying it if you were willing to get rid of it. Leave me a comment to let me know.

Appleday

Today was part 1 of probably a few days devoted to apples. I picked apples. I trimmed my apple tree. I cut up some of the apples. I made apple fritters. I made some apple butter(trust me it's good) I'm kinda sick of apples right now.
Does anyone care what I write right now? It kinda sucks when I go around town and see youth and people from my old church and people act kinda awkward around me. I saw 4 youth today and they looked like they would have preferred not to have seen me. Anyone who does read this know this: I'm still the same Adam. I still care about you guys. I still pray about you guys. And I'm still there for you anytime. If you are bored give me a call. Don't bring apples.

Wow!!!

Wow is all I can say when I think of the week that was at Madge Lake Bible Camp. As much as God may have used what I had to say; I was blessed by being there. First of all, it was the best staff I have ever seen in ministry anywhere(sorry Torch Trail friends). The staff was all about loving and serving Jesus and they welcomed me into their family like I had been with them all summer. Second, it was all about worshipping Jesus and following the lead of the spirit. One night I didn't preach because the Holy Spirit crashed down and it was more appropriate to let Him do his thing, and that was cool! Third, they were just down to earth cool people who encouraged me. I'll tell some of the cool things God did as well as reflect on the rest of the summer later this week. But right now I'm glad to be home in my own bed. God bless.
