Seriously! Is winter almost done?

This winter has been a typical Saskatchewan winter; lots of snow and frigid cold. People always take winter here with a grain of salt and try to not let it get the best of them. When the first few snowfalls happen everyone eagerly goes out and shovels up the snow in an effort to have it not pile up on them. The first frigid days everyone goes out bundled up trying to say, "It ain't that cold". But as the winter goes on, the song and dance changes. People, like me, are sick of the snow. It snowed just a little bit this week, and usually my neighborhood would be buzzing with snowblowers, but everyone must have been like me. I just stepped outside, looked around and thought, "What's the point?"
And I am particularly bitter towards the cold. I am sure my bitterness is due to the fact that I have walked around town most of this winter, and drove my heatless car around with the window open, so it won't fog up.
I heard that all the usual groundhogs predicted an early spring; that was music to my ears, but like most people in Saskatchewan I remain in doubt until I see it with my onw eyes.

If it's as cold as it is now there when I get back, I'll probably die of shock
